The Barrow Manager and Assistant Manager - Part Time, 25 hours per week 

 

We’re looking for hospitality superstars with management experience to step into an exciting, shared supervisor role at our grab and go food outlet, The Barrow.

 

About The Barrow:

Located at the entrance of the Rivers of Yarrambat lifestyle centre in Melbourne’s northeast, The Barrow is our convenient grab and go food and beverage outlet operating 7 days a week. Originally created as a way for customers to enjoy Rivers food and coffee during lockdowns, The Barrow is now the perfect option for guests who are in a hurry - but with food prepared by our Café kitchen team, this isn’t your average takeaway! It’s good food done fast. 

 

About the role:

If you love fast-paced, high-energy work environments, have experience leading a hospo team, and are dedicated to providing the very best hospitality experience for every customer, this hands-on role is for YOU!

 · 7-day shared role (manager and assistant manager or may be shared between two co-managers depending on experience)

 · Each role comprises approx. 25 hours per week 

 · Includes one weekend shift

 

Duties include:

 · Be responsible for the smooth operation of The Barrow, ensuring timely service and an excellent customer experience. 

 · Supervising staff each shift including task delegation, staff breaks and problem-solving on the go. 

 · Stock inventory management and ordering.

 · Liaising with the kitchen team.

 · Staff training and ongoing support.

 · Development and implementation of systems and procedures.

 · Ensuring all staff maintain strict adherence to food safety and hygiene standards.

 · Barista experience will be highly regarded but not essential.

Weekday Dishwasher - Casual, 10-15 hours per week

 

Position begins February 2025

 

We are looking for a fast and efficient person to join our team in the Rivers Café kitchen. In this weekday role, your duties will include helping with the dishes and clean down in our commercial kitchen. You must be able to work under pressure in a busy, fast-paced environment. Experience in a similar hospitality environment is highly favoured.

Garden


GARDEN CENTRE SENIOR SALES PERSON - Full Time or 4 days per week

 

We're seeking a qualified horticulturist to join our sales team in the Garden Centre. This is a senior position suitable for someone with broad retail garden centre experience and extensive plant knowledge.

 

The successful applicant will have a passion for indoor and outdoor plants, excellent organisational skills, and demonstrate a love of outdoor work.

Responsibilities include customer service, merchandising, and daily operations including incoming stock and plant maintenance. Opportunities exist for suitable candidate in selected plant buying and responsibility for a section of the Garden Centre. 

 

Role requires a full driver's licence, and fork-lift licence is an advantage. Days and hours are negotiable but will include regular weekend shifts. Position is available for an immediate start.
